Sometimes people refer to someone who’s weak as a “shrimp,” but shrimp can pack quite a punch! The peacock mantis shrimp is found throughout the Pacific and Indian Oceans, and it’s known for its dazzling colors. But looks can be deceiving—this predator is just a couple inches long, but it can punch incredibly hard. Its arms are spring-loaded, allowing its fist to fly with the force of a .22 caliber bullet! Its powerful punches can break the shells of crabs and snails. Not bad for a shrimp!
