Here’s a photo of Jonathan, the recipient of last year’s Craig Tufts Educational Scholarship Award.  He’s having a good time catching insects using a method called sweep netting. This was one of the many activities that took place during the week-long 2019 Family Nature Summit.

The family of Craig Tufts,  Family Summits Inc., and the National Wildlife Federation are accepting applications for this year’s annual Craig Tufts Educational Scholarship competition.  The Educational Scholarship Fund was established in memory of Craig Tufts, Chief Naturalist of the National Wildlife Federation.

The essay competition is open to kids between the ages of 8 and 18. The award guidelines and essay requirements can be found here.

The selected entry will receive a once-in-a-lifetime experience to attend an outdoor adventure camp with a parent or guardian. The 2020 Redwood Coast Family Summit will take place July 11-17 and will be based at Humboldt State University in Arcata, California. The Fund provides travel, room and board, and program fees for the award recipient and an accompanying parent or guardian.  Entries are due by Friday, March 20.
