Looking Out for Trouble

Lots of animals like to hang out with giraffes because their long necks make them walking watchtowers. Because they’re so tall, giraffes are the first to spot lions—or any other dangers—approaching in the distance. The other animals don’t have to watch for trouble—all they have to do is watch the giraffes and see what they do!

Lots of different animals and plants are found where giraffes live. Some are tall and some are short. Can you point to a giraffe that is tall? Which giraffe is short? Do you see a tall tree? Where is the short grass?
